Missions

Missions plays a vital role here at First Baptist Church of Ashville.  We are focused on serving others in our church, our community and around the world.  We offer education and involvement opportunities with WMU, various local ministries, and mission trip opportunities around the world.

Mission Classes -

WMU - "WMU's main purpose is to educate and involve adults, youth, children, and preschoolers in the cause of Christian missions. Although originally geared towards women, girls, and preschoolers, both genders are active participants in WMU organizations and ministries today. WMU is an auxiliary to the Southern Baptist Convention." www.wmu.com

Children in Action - These age-grouped classes meets every Wed. evening at 6:30. "Children in Action is a comprehensive missions education organization, for boys and girls in grades 1-6, which includes praying for missions, engaging in missions action and witness, learning about missions, developing spiritually toward a missions lifestyle, participating in the work of the church and denomination, and supporting missions."  www.childrensmissions.com

Mission Friends - This class meets every Wed. evening at 6:30.  "Mission Friends, the WMU organization for children from birth to prefirst grade, helps young children begin to learn about God and His love, and about becoming one of God's "helpers" here on earth.
