Dr. James Sampley
Dr. James Sampley is a native of Fort Payne, Alabama. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord when he was eleven years old and was called to ministry at the age of twelve. After graduating from high school in Fort Payne he served four years in the United States Navy. At the end of his enlistment in the Navy, he attended and graduated from Northeast State Junior College, Samford University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville,Kentucky. After serving churches in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina, Brother James came to serve as the pastor of First Baptist Church of Ashville in 1996.
Dr. Sampley is married to Judy (Whitmire) Sampley, who serves the people of St. Clair county as the Child Nutrition Director for the St. Clair County school system. They have two adult children and two grandchildren.
Dr. Sampley is very active in the community, the St. Clair Baptist Association and the Alabama Baptist Convention.
